Patent Mitra
Under the Guidance of NITI AAYOG, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in partnership with Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) and supported by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) aims to build a robust and dynamic ecosystem that promotes innovation within biomedical research by providing comprehensive Patent and Technology Transfer (TT) support to innovators at every stage of the patent lifecycle, with a vision to translate innovative research in the biomedical domain to practical solutions driving meaningful advancements in public health across India.
Clinical Trial Registry - India
The Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI), hosted at the ICMR's National Institute for Research in Digital Health and Data Science (https://nims.icmr.org.in), is a free and online public record system for registration of clinical trials being conducted in India that was launched on 20th July 2007 (www.ctri.nic.in). Initiated as a voluntary measure, since 15th June 2009, trial registration in the CTRI has been made mandatory by the Drugs Controller General (India) (DCGI) (www.cdsco.gov.in).
Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation(CDSCO)
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation(CDSCO) under Directorate General of Health Services,Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,Government of India is the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) of India. Its headquarter is located at FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi 110002 and also has six zonal offices,four sub zonal offices,thirteen Port offices and seven laboratories spread across the country.
ICMR Bioethics Unit
The main broad and overall objective of the centre is to sustain and develop a national research data-base on cancer, diabetes, CVD and stroke through recent advances in electronic information technology with a national collaborative network, so as to undertake aetiological, epidemiological, clinical and control research in these areas.
Department of Pharmaceuticals
The Department of Pharmaceuticals was created on the 1st of July in the year 2008 in the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers with the objective to give greater focus and thrust on the development of pharmaceutical sector in the country and to regulate various complex issues related to pricing and availability of medicines at affordable prices, research & development, protection of intellectual property rights and international commitments related to pharmaceutical sector which required integration of work with other Ministries.
NITI Aayog
The NITI Aayog ('Policy Commission', abbreviation for National Institution for Transforming India) established in 2015 serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Government of the Republic of India, and the nodal agency tasked with catalyzing economic development, and fostering cooperative federalism and moving away from bargaining federalism through the involvement of State Governments of India in the economic policy-making process using a bottom-up approach.
