Dr. Alka Turuk

Dr. Alka is a Medical Scientist at ICMR with a postgraduate degree in Community Medicine. After a brief tenure in teaching Preventive and Social Medicine, she transitioned into research, beginning her career at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as a Survey Coordinator for the National Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey of India. As a Research Scientist at ICMR, Dr. Alka contributed to the National Sero-Survey for COVID-19 and the National Registry for COVID-19. Her expertise spans large-scale disease survey, pandemic response, and national health programs, working closely with national and international stakeholders. Currently, she serves as a Scientist in the Clinical Studies and Trial Unit, Division of Development Research, and is involved in the Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU) Scheme under the Department of Health Research. With experience in project management, capacity building, and health systems research, Dr. Alka is committed to addressing complex public health challenges and strengthening healthcare delivery. Her area of interest lies in clinical trials, community trials and implementation research.
