Dr Jerin is a medical scientist in ICMR and holds a masters in Pharmacology & Therapeutics, and a masters in Medical Law and Ethics. He has completed an MBA in Health systems management. After briefly teaching Pharmacology, he worked in healthcare quality and patient safety. After working in this field for four years in various capacities, including as a consultant to the Patient Safety unit in the World Health Organisation, he joined ICMR-DHR in 2018. In his current role he is involved in various clinical trials, including international collaborative studies with NIH, DNDi and Oxford university. Dr Jerin is also the Member Secretary of the Clinical Research Group of COVID-19. He serves as a member of the Subject Expert Committee at CDSCO, Drugs Technical Advisory Board, Ethics committee of National Institute of Malaria Research and Committee for evaluation of affordable healthcare. His areas of interest include pharmaceutical policy and regulations, access to medicines, and evidence synthesis & analysis.
